Cinderwake world note

Law can be a weapon in Cinderwake

The danger is not only raiders or broken machines. A powerful group can try to name the base, claim it, or classify it first.

Plain version

Classification means someone with power decides what Cinderwake counts as. That label can change who gets to own it.

This is spoiler-free. I am using this post to explain the series idea, not to walk through the plot.

Paperwork can hurt

Cinderwake has guns, wrecks, predators, and broken systems. It also has paperwork with knives in it.

If a powerful group can say the base is abandoned property, a military hazard, a restricted asset, or a salvage claim, that label can change the fight before anyone fires a shot.

Relay law is a pressure system

The Relay Hegemony is a route-control power. Plain version: it cares about relays, traffic, permissions, and the rules that decide who gets to move through important space.

That makes it dangerous in a quieter way. A base can survive a raid and still lose if someone else gets to write the official name on it.

Salvagers have opinions

The Salvager Concord treats wrecks and dead military spaces as business. Survivors, history, and ownership can become secondary to the claim.

That is one reason Cinderwake keeps returning to cost. A repaired room matters. A saved person matters. The name other people put on those things also matters.
